JOIN OUR TEAM – SEATTLE TASTING ROOM MANAGER
We are a Rhône inspired destination winery in Lake Chelan, WA with a second location in Seattle located at SODO Urbanworks. We offer our employees a supportive and appreciative work environment, building authentic friendships with our team, wine club members and guests. We are currently seeking a Tasting Room Manager to lead our Seattle tasting room team, and we welcome qualified, diverse candidates to apply.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all aspects of operating the Seattle Tasting Room, including but not limited to:
• Hands on management of tasting room staff and interaction with winery guests
• Manage and maintain staffing schedules
• Recruit, interview and onboard new tasting room associates
• Work with tasting room team on sales and customer service training, one-on-one coaching and ongoing wine education
• Set and achieve tasting room goals including sales, average value per taster, new club members, conversion rates
• Manage daily visitor reservations
• Assist with checking voicemails; return calls as needed or pass along messages
• Respond to customer service emails as needed
• Conduct a weekly inventory of onsite wine and request additional wine as needed
• Inventory merchandise and work with Marketing Specialist to reorder as needed
• Track and order tasting room supplies
• Assist with running wine club allotments and packaging wine club shipments allocated for pick up at the Seattle location
• Manage and conduct off-site pourings, tastings and events
• Book and manage private events at the SODO tasting room
• Coordinate Seattle-based donations
• Develop innovative strategies to drive sales and customer satisfaction
• Network with hospitality/industry peers to further develop referral relationships
• Assist with special events, such as wine club release parties
• Develop and manage light food service program
• Meet with the owner regularly to check-in, brainstorm new ideas, share reports, etc.
• Collaborate with our Lake Chelan Tasting Room Manager, Wine Club Manager, and Marketing Specialist to ensure brand consistency across locations
• Travel and receive training at our flagship location in Lake Chelan
• Other duties as assigned, including occasional travel to Lake Chelan
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum two-year successful management experience, ideally in luxury hospitality or the wine industry
• Experience working well in team settings as both a co-worker and a team leader
• Ability to plan, executive and oversee projects
• Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to affectively convey information and interact with others, verbally and written
• Capability to address and resolve issues creatively
• Precision in completing tasks and projects
• Demonstrates reliability, responsibility and strong work ethic
• Self-starter who shows enthusiasm and drive
• Alignment with company values and culture
• Proficient in Orderport, Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk for longer periods of time
• Ability to obtain a WSLCB MAST Permit and WA State Food Handler’s Permit
• Passion for wine and customer service with strong wine knowledge
• An enthusiasm for Washington wine and a bonus for a love of the Rhône style
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• $26-$29 per hour, plus tips and bonuses
• Full Time 29-40 Hours per Week
• Non-Exempt Status, eligible for pre-approved overtime
