Job Description
DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about influencing and developing global information security, privacy, and cloud standards that help shape customer expectations, industry practices, and regulatory requirements? Have you served in a leadership position or as a subject matter expert in national or international standards development organizations (SDO) representing the interests and positions of your organization or country? Do you have substantive information security experience working in technology, government, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated sectors such as energy, health, financial services, or telecommunications? If so, you may be the independent, passionate, and seasoned individual contributor we’re looking for to join our international team of Standards Leaders influencing key industry standards on behalf of AWS customers.
This role is critical to ensure a strategic and proactive approach in monitoring, influencing, and developing key information security and privacy international standards that represent the needs and interests of AWS and its customers. This leader acts as a deep subject matter expert with an extensive working knowledge of international information security and privacy standards, as well as the global legal, regulatory and compliance requirements that shape, or are shaped by them. You will help develop the AWS positions that inform those policies, regulations, expectations, and standards that impact AWS and AWS customers’ ability to innovate.
Key job responsibilities
This role is crucial in helping AWS develop concise and actionable thought leadership positions on new, emerging, and existing industry information security standards across AWS product, business, and assurance teams. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to effectively work with and across internal teams to keep stakeholders informed of key standards developments and changes in requirements. Your efforts will also be integral in developing AWS positions to support and represent business and customer interests in the relevant SDO fora, thereby helping to facilitate customer adoption and usage of AWS services.
The ideal candidate for this role is an information security and privacy leader who: prioritizes effectively; deals well with ambiguity; communicates clearly; delivers results on time and on budget; proactively identifies and removes roadblocks to pave the way for innovation; thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple, competing priorities; is a positive influence across diverse teams and organizations; can effectively rally support for key initiatives; helps others drive simple, scalable solutions to meet customer expectations; and uses a data-driven approach to support business decision making.
