Cincinnati Country Day School (CCDS) is seeking a dynamic, experienced Upper School Computer Science teacher to join our award-winning computer science department for the 24-25 school year. Qualified candidates will hold a degree in computer science (CS) or related field and be an experienced CS classroom teacher. The teacher in this position will work with an amazing group of exceptional, highly motivated students. We are very proud of our long tradition of having a computer science graduation requirement in the Upper School. Almost half of our Upper School student body is enrolled in a CS or Engineering course each year. The successful candidate will: Be an experienced, engaging, innovative CS educator with skill teaching multiple languages and a history of delivering lessons in a student-centered, experiential learning classroom environment. Enjoy working with, connecting with, and motivating students of all CS skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and be committed to developing students' critical thinking skills. Have taught both AP CS Principles and AP CS A courses, with a high level of student success in both courses. Understand that the critical thinking, problem-solving, and computational thinking skills that are developed in CS courses apply to all areas of study and professions and are essential skills for the leaders of tomorrow that CCDS is committed to developing. Be excited to contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking Computer Science department that is constantly iterating our courses and pedagogy to be as relevant, student-centered, and experiential as possible. Have experience teaching in the Python and Java languages. Experience with physical computing is helpful. Be committed to enhancing the student experience through modern pedagogy (including integrating technology where appropriate) with pedagogy rooted in experiential learning principles and a willingness to contribute to the community outside of the classroom.
