POSITION DESCRIPTION Using experience gained from previous commissioning and operations project roles, support the strategic planning, preparation, and execution of processes required to achieve certification of Operational Readiness of the SRPPF project in accordance with DOE Order 425.1C.
DUTIES The responsibilities provided below are intended to describe the primary elements of the job as a whole and not describe any one position in its entirety:
- Leads the Readiness Team Members to ensure that the project executes the planned strategy for achieving Operational Readiness per requirements. (DOE Standard 3006-2010 R1, DOE Order 413.2B, DOE Order 425.1C)
- Assists in development of the SRPPF Readiness Plan to outline the projects process of achieving Operational Readiness under the defined strategy.
- Reduces potential vulnerabilities to a successful startup through sound readiness planning.
- Identifies and resolves vulnerabilities early, to ensure that startup meets operational, safety, and technical requirements and will provide the desired mission capability described in the Functional and Operational Requirements Document and Program Requirements Document.
- Ensures that site administrative and technical requirements that apply to startup planning are met.
- Assists in development of the Operational Readiness Review (ORR) Plan of Action (POA) to define the scope of the ORR as outlined in DOE Order 425.1C.
- Assists in selection and implementation of the Readiness Certification Assurance (RCA) process to be used and managed through a tracking software to collect, store, and share readiness evidence.
- Ensures the completion of readiness affirmations in Readiness Certification Assurance Process Tracking System (RCAPTS).
- Assists the Project Manager in the successful delivery of the project by validating that functional area operational readiness preparations meet SRPPF Management expectations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
PhD or Masters Degree with specialized technical training. Candidates not meeting education requirements may be considered based on additional relevant experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
- 20+ years of experience in the nuclear or commercial industrial industry.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with multidisciplinary team members, using negotiation skills to influence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance with Weapons Data access.
- Leads the Readiness Team Members to ensure that the project executes the planned strategy for achieving Operational Readiness per requirements (DOE Standard 3006-2010 R1, DOE Order 413.2B, DOE Order 425.1C)

Desired Qualifications
- Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.
- Previous relevant experience at SRS is preferred.
- Commissioning, Readiness, & Start Up experience on DOE/NNSA Projects
- Experience in performing assessments to support achieving operational readiness of nuclear facilities
- Experience in Operations of a DOE/NNSA Nuclear Facility
- Experience filling Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance, or Senior Supervisory Watch operational readiness support roles.
LOCATION
Position will be on-site in Aiken, SC.

Duration of the Contract: One (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year options
Estimates Hours Per Year: 2,000ST/500 hours OT
Anticipated Work Schedule: 6:30am - 5:00pm.
Onsite or Remote? Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. 100% onsite.
