AMHC is excited to announce our new Peer Support Specialist Position in Saint John Valley area. This is a Full-Time position that will be responsible for providing peer support services to members of the community. The Peer Support Specialist will demonstrate recovery-based values and assist in recovery goal planning and offer peer support activities and interventions to foster engagement and help build recovery skills. The chosen candidate must be willing to obtain the Intentional Peer Support Specialist Certification within the required timeframes and demonstrate the core values of AMHC by showing Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Service, Collaboration, and Respect to co-workers, clients, and the community members.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma is required
• Must be receiving or have received services related to mental health and/or be in recovery
• Must be willing to self-identify
• Must have a Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Facilitate Collaborative activities to build recovery skills
• provide Compassionate advocacy
• be a Respectful role model demonstrating Integrity
• adhere to agency policies and procedures in order to show AMHC's focus on Excellence
• work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of our clients and focus on their need for Service

Schedule:

• This is a 40-hour per week non-exempt position
