Job Description

A Carter Lumber Maintenance Helper is responsible for maintaining a clean facility while performing preventative maintenance and other housekeeping duties at the Corporate Office. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

This opening is for a part-time Maintenance role. We are looking for an individual to work 15-20 hours M-F, with flexibility in the hours, days and time. We are willing to work with you and provide any training needed! 

Responsibilities of the Position:

Housekeeping

• Cleans work centers, conference rooms, hallways and restrooms by dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming and washing windows.
• Removes recycling materials and empties trash. Maintains landscape and outside walk areas.
• Cleaning and filling coffee pots.
• Stocking closets.
• Dusting and cleaning windows.

Loading Dock

• Receives incoming shipments.
• Verifies that the material received is correct.
• Distributes the incoming packages to Corporate Office personnel.

General Maintenance

• Assists in general maintenance projects and repairs with the Maintenance Manager. 
• Reports necessary repairs to the Maintenance Manager. 
• Moving boxes.
• Pulling weeds and salting sidewalks.

Physical Aspects

• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Standing and/or walking for up to 4 hours consistently across a variety of surfaces.
• Lifting up to 100 lbs. regularly without assistance.
• Regular stooping and bending at the waist to load/unload material.
• Occasional kneeling and crawling to assist with product retrieval or loading.
• Pushing and pulling items of various weights and sizes multiple times daily.
