Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic GED Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach and inspire students in either Math & Science or English & Social Studies. You will work closely with our Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to support students by maintaining detailed records of their performance, including test results, subject gains, and attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to students' needs.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Address student inquiries via email and phone promptly and professionally.
Grade assignments and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
Create and update course outlines and syllabi.
Collaborate regularly with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to connect students with post-GED opportunities.
Teach primarily in the mornings and afternoons, with potential for evening and weekend classes as needed.
Utilize various instructional methods (synchronous, hybrid, remote) through platforms such as Zoom.
Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, embracing diversity and upholding our guiding principles.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in adult education or a related field from an accredited institution.
At least two years of experience teaching high school equivalency preparation (e.g., GED or HiSET) or in a similar setting.
Proficiency with MS Office, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage culturally diverse and at-risk populations.
Willingness to cross-train for other positions within the GED/ESL program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in adult education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Bilingual in Spanish or Somali.
Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) or willingness to obtain within three years of hire.
Extensive experience teaching in various modalities (in-person, hybrid, remote) to diverse student populations.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range: $31.06 - $33.76 per hour, depending on education, skills, and experience.
This position does not include a benefits package. Employees must work at least 0.75 FTE to be eligible for benefits.
Sick leave will be accrued in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.
No relocation assistance provided.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be assessed based on their qualifications relative to the role's duties and responsibilities. Finalists will be invited for an in-person interview at their own expense.
