Job Description
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all Fixed Asset transactions in Fixed Asset sub-ledger including additions, capital interest, acquisitions, transfers, retirements, impairments, reclassifications, and per GAAP and company policies
Review capital invoices/purchase orders including remodels and new store construction to ensure correct GAAP accounting classification (capital or expense) and correct project coding
Research and resolve issues with facility managers, project managers, operations directors, and accounting
Review assigned fixed asset related journal entries and account reconciliations of CIP and asset activity between the Fixed Assets/Projects sub-ledger and the General Ledger and prepare and analyze fixed asset roll-forwards
Review and record system estimated depreciation, capitalized interest and capital labor, and reclassification and adjustment journal entries as needed
Assist with Project Accounting (PA) and Fixed Assets (FA) month-end closing including processing the PA and FA sub-ledger systems, analyzing variances, and preparing monthly reports
Provide key support on sale leaseback transactions, as assets are removed as fixed assets and re-capitalized as right-of-use assets.
Maintain open communication with Construction, IT Departments and other departments regarding the status of projects
Compliance with all accounting policies and procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements is expected
Analyze Balance Sheet fluctuation & Income Statement variances between current month, prior month, prior year, and budget
Ensure development of and compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to consistently improve customer service
Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and/or accounting
Assist Management on various projects/tasks as needed
Develop and maintain fixed asset processes and policies

Required Skills & Experience BS Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Public company/Sarbanes-Oxley experience
Strong leadership skills
2+ years experience leading a team
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong excel skills
Experience with Fixed Asset software (Netsuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Experience managing the accounting for multiple ongoing capital projects (construction and/or internally developed software)
Experience obtaining and analyzing data from ERP and database management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to solve unstructured business and accounting problems and lead multiple priorities
Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on a team and a positive disposition.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience CPA certification
Experience with multi-unit retail business
Experience with sale leaseback transactions strongly preferred
