Title: Email Marketing Specialist (Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
Location: REMOTE (based in PST)
Duration: 6 months with opportunity for extension

Must Have – financial services industry experience, Digital Marketing, Email Campaigns
Technical Must Have: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, AMPscript, HTML, CSS, MS Office, Excel
MUST have excellent communication skills!!!

Go into Salesforce Marketing Cloud and crank out emails for us
Focused on emails and email studio
Know email side of marketing cloud to be familiar with the journey build and the basic stuff- AMPScript, html, dynamic content, blogs, etc.
We have a high amount of volume and just lost someone who retired so we need to fill this ASAP. Right now we only have 3 people support all lines of businesses building emails. We are doing maybe 20-30 requests per week. Each request could be build us an email but also we need an OFT with that. They are outlook templates where we take that HTML code and insert it into an Outlook file and send it out to various stakeholder so they can open it up and hit send so it looks pretty. And then sometimes we recreate that email in a separate system similar to a salesforce distributed marketing process but it is in a different system, so one request could turn into three very easily
Do need someone who has at least 5 years of email experience, knows Marketing Cloud well, can code HTML, CSS and AMPScript along with the automation and CRM experience and how those two systems are integrated
MS Office, especially Excel. Often we get lists sent to us by our stakeholders and we try to do most of our work through our 4 CRM instances that are multi-org connectors, each are segregated into a business unit and we try to do most of the work there. By 40% of the time we get exports of lists through spreadsheets and we have to do Pivot Tables or troubleshooting for missing data. Be familiar enough with Excel through that. Not looking for someone to do hardcore formulas. Also VLOOKUPS
They are not writing or building the content. They use Aprimo and we have someone our team that does the delegation of the request. Aprimo is not a required
HTML and CSS required, AMPScript are must haves on the tech side. That is what we are building emails out of. The nice to haves are SQL and JavaScript
Salesforce Marketing Cloud is not a deal breaker but makes the Manager feel more comfortable that someone went and got their certification and understands it well enough
Will the high-volume affect the work hours? No. It has to be the 40 hours a week. On occasion, may need a couple of hours here or there and we would make an exception on some additional hours but we have not done that a lot in my experience here
5 years with digital marketing and email campaigns. Do all 5 need to be in salesforce? No. doesn't need to be that- could be others. Have used Eloqua and Marketa and marking could before. Some things vary but the building of the email itself are similar with the exception of AMPScript. AMPScript is a must and is with Salesforce. With AMPScript, expect them to be solid with it, regardless of the number of years of experience
Looking for financial services. If you have someone that knows retirement and got into email on a technical level and know financial services because they are a financial services person that is fine
80-90% of the time is being sent in AMPScript and coding the emails at first. We use a lot of dynamic content to build our emails. Our templates look like Japanese but the right content and info will come up if you code it and all is done through AMPScript and HTML combination of code for most of our emails. It will be heavy at first but after a while it will becomes like second nature
Team has 6 direct reports and 1 consultant right now. We are structured to support Saleforce Marketing Cloud and Marketing Cloud Intelligence. Have an Aprimo/Project Manager who is the right-hand person to delegate a lot of the work and work with the various managers across the 3 lines of business to understand what is coming down the pipeline and be able to support. 5 are developers and Marketing Cloud email builders. Business is beginning to operationalize the various studios like Email, Advertising, Mobile Connect, Automation, Journeys, along with Personalization (just launched). We are augmenting a lot of this work to a 3rd party consultant who has been helping with implementation and integration because the team is rather small to support the volume and three lines of businesses. Hiring for this role right and a Marketing Cloud Intelligence person
