Job Description Director of Email Acquisition Hearst Newspapers is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Email Acquisition to lead our efforts in growing our direct relationship with our readers and consumers through email acquisition across all of our titles. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing innovative strategies, programs and campaigns to capture new email addresses through newsletter sign ups, editorial tools, partnerships, UGC, and promotions. You will work collaboratively with product, editorial, marketing and advertising to prioritize our efforts across all teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive email subscriber acquisition strategy to drive consistent growth in our email list
- Analyze data and insights to identify new opportunities, and test and optimize campaigns accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, edit, advertising, product, etc.) to create compelling acquisition touchpoints
- Manage and optimize our email subscriber acquisition channels, including website, social media, paid advertising, partnerships, and more
- Monitor and report on key email subscriber acquisition metrics, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve performance
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in email marketing and subscriber acquisition
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in email marketing, with a strong track record of growing email subscriber bases
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful email subscriber acquisition strategies
- Strong understanding of digital media
- Excellent data analysis and optimization skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Familiarity with best practices, privacy, email marketing platforms, and other relevant technologies
The base salary for this role is between $110,000 - $125,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law.
This role requires the position to be located in New York, NY with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
