Description

This is a non-sworn position in the City of Wildwood Police Department and will assist the Community Outreach Officer with public relations services between the police department and community partners.

Examples of Duties

1. Provides administrative support and assistance to the Community Outreach Officer and Community Relations team.
2. Assists the team in performing public relations duties as well as services and maintains effective communications between City departments and community partners.
3. Assists in coordinating volunteers for community relations/crime prevention resource materials.
4. Assists in the coordination of community relations/crime prevention resource materials.
5. Assists in creating, implementing, and overseeing communications programs and projects including website management, use of social media, media releases, traffic safety programs and community outreach.
6. Assists in researching, preparing, and soliciting, and conducting presentations for the City of Wildwood Police Department.
7. Research issues, prepare reports, and present them both orally and in writing. Prepares correspondences or memorandums as directed.
8. Performs other duties, tasks, and special projects as directed.

Typical Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Be able to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and attend meetings/events at night or on weekends, when necessary
• Successfully complete all phases of the hiring process to include, but not limited to, extensive background investigations, series of testing and oral board interview
