A. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) manages the quality of care and FCCH clinical staff and assures all clinical teams are working for the overall benefit of the patient population. The CMO assembles and maintains the right team of clinical leaders to achieve excellence in the delivery of care, team culture, provider productivity, and performance. The CMO collaborates with FCCH Executive leadership and dyad partners to develop and implement new approaches and programs to help deliver care and advance FCCH's mission and strategic plans.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead the organization's medical initiatives, clinical teams, and clinical care delivery.
2. Facilitate the application of evidence-based and safe clinical practices, the effective measurement of clinical outcomes and clinical performance improvement activities.
3. Practice medicine at the FCCH South Valley clinic location and maintain a 0.3 or better Clinical FTE status.
4. Maintain a strong outpatient clinical presence, actively engaging with all clinical teams to stay informed about the needs and challenges of the outpatient clinics.
5. Promote effective communication among providers, senior leadership and governance ensuring alignment and integration with FCCH strategic initiatives.
6. Help develop and execute FCCH strategic plan and annual goals and initiatives.
7. Recruit and train Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and other Advanced Practice Clinicians as necessary to maintain patient access and to support growth.
8. Participate or chair clinical committees as designated.
9. Develop and implement clinical guidelines for care designed to improve patient access, outcomes, clinician productivity and reduce burnout.
10. Working in a matrixed environment, develop, implement and administer clinical compliance with primary health care policies and procedures and with external regulatory bodies and other professional review and standards boards.
11. Support the development and growth of the health system service lines by working with administration and physician leaders to improve clinical operations.
12. Participates in the design and implementation of Value Based Care partnerships and care delivery models.
Requirements
A. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. Must have an MD/DO degree with a minimum of 10 years' practicing medicine.
2. Meets all FCCH credentialing requirements.
3. Must be licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Mexico.
4. Advanced business degree or formal executive leadership training preferred.
5. Demonstrated success in leading and facilitating groups of physicians in the community and/or the academic medical center setting.
6. Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the community clinic environment.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
