Join the OakNorth US Founding Team and shape the future of banking
OakNorth is looking for a driven and ambitious Associate to join our US Founding Team as we take our lending business across the Atlantic. This is an amazing opportunity to be at the forefront of our US expansion and directly contribute to our growth and success.
As an Associate, you'll work closely with senior leaders in the Debt Finance team, playing a crucial role in dealing with closing points such as liaising with internal and external stakeholders including clients, legal and credit.
You'll gain unparalleled exposure to structuring deals while building your pipeline and network with the goal of progressing to Associate Director.
This role offers the unique opportunity to independently manage client relationships, make impactful decisions, and truly own your space within the company. As you grow, so will your influence and responsibility, shaping not just deals, but the future of OakNorth in the US.
Key responsibilities
* Work as part of a team on the execution of real estate transactions
* Support the Debt Finance team in finding new clients and keeping an updated prospective client database
* Assist in the preparation of deal specific credit memoranda for transaction recommendations to credit committees and other relevant lines of approval
* Attend external meetings (with senior bankers) and contribute to the discussion
* Assist in building complex dynamic financial models to analyse investment opportunities (reviewing debt structures, relevant debt underwriting parameters and specific assets using financial models and a variety of quantitative analytical tools to test assumptions and sensitivities)
* Undertake fundamental research analysis using a variety of data sources; undertake company and transaction specific analysis and valuations
* Participate in third party meetings where you could potentially contribute to drive the business forward - analysing proposed budgets, capital plans and other investment recommendations
Key attributes
* At least 3+ years in a similar role
* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
* Drive to achieve a common goal (lend money, help businesses)
* Possess excellent financial modelling, quantitative and analytical skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbal)
* Resourceful problem solver with a focus on delivery (ability to multitask is also crucial)
* Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment where you can create your own opportunities
